CEM ERTUNC
Director and Editor Cem Ertunc was born and raised in Izmir, Turkey, and is now based in Los Angeles, California. A recent graduate of the New York Film Academy, where he earned his MFA in Filmmaking summa cum laude, Cem has spent over eight years honing his craft as both a director and editor. Cem’s debut feature film, One Way (Tek Yön), has earned widespread recognition, including Best International Feature Film, Best Cinematography - Feature, and the Roger Taylor Award for Best Original Score at the Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema. It also won Best Feature at the New Media Film Festival and Best International Film at the INFLUX Film Awards, along with official selections at the Halic Goldenhorn Film Festival and Arpa International Film Festival. His short film Phosphenes was similarly celebrated, winning “Best Short Concept” at KIFCF. Now based in LA, Cem continues to work on a variety of productions, contributing his skills as a director, editor, and creative collaborator. His passion lies in telling stories that resonate across cultures and generations, with a vision to grow his own production company into a legacy of innovative filmmaking.
